Abstract :
Edge-emitting 1.3 ¿m LEDs are used to launch -13·7 dBm of average optical power into single-mode fibres. This permits analogue video signal transmission over a distance of 42 km with a loss margin of 5 dB. No degradations of DG, DP or signal-to-noise ratio have been observed.
