Abstract
A simple method is described for constructing equivalent punctured codes for given true high rate codes. In addition, it is shown that in some cases, transposition of the generators of the true high rate code results in a punctured encoder with a slightly reduced memory than otherwise. Some equivalent punctured codes that can be realised using a smaller encoder memory than known earlier are given
