Abstract :
An evanescent field integrated optics amplifier for the 1.07-1.34 μm spectral band is proposed and demonstrated. The amplifier is a silicon oxide thin-film waveguide on a laser active LiF:F2 - colour centre crystalline substrate. The measured gain was ~10dB for a mode propagation length of 2cm
