Abstract :
Measurements have been carried out of the variation of the switching field distribution with temperature for a system of CrO2particles in powder form. The SFD´s were calculated from IRM curves. DC demagnetisation curves and AC demagnetisation curves. All gave the same variation with temperature which was a reduction in the peak height and increase in the width as the temperature was decreased. Using the relationship between the time dependence coefficient S and the irreversible susceptibility the data obtained were compared with previous experimental data on the temperature variation of S. The data were found to be consistent, indicating the usefulness of the relation between S and the irreversible susceptibility.
