Abstract :
The geographical dispersion of distributed intelligent systems requires the consideration of communications as well as processes in the determination of requirements. The Cube Tool is a methodology for deriving the processing and communication needs for the individual functions that support a mission. An approach is introduced for deriving executable models from the Cube Tool results in the form of a Petri net representing each function. Then, for a given scenario, these nets are interconnected and the steps of the methodology are applied again to derive the Petri net that represents the mission-dependent requirements for the system
