Abstract :
DC Interconnect (DCI) has been developing a concept that takes advantage of both ac and dc technologies to enable the electric power industry to meet future needs in a cost-effective manner. The solution, grid segmentation, involves decomposing existing large inter-regional networks (interconnections) into sets of asynchronously operated sectors interconnected exclusively by dc links.
