Abstract
An excellent introduction to some basic techniques used frequently in AI systems, Principles of Artificial Intelligence by Nils J. Nilsson is well organized, with an orderly progression of topics. The book covers material not treated in the author´s previous book.* Based on teaching notes for courses given at Stanford University and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, the book is designed as a text for use in a one- or two-semester senior or first-year graduate course in AI.
