Abstract :
Experiments are described from which determination can be made of the self and mutual impedance for microstrip dipoles and of the backscattering relation involving the radiating current. Functional representations of these sources of input data then permits the design of planar microstrip dipole arrays, including the effects of mutual coupling. The design, construction, and performance of a typical array are described. Agreement between theory and experiment is good.
