Abstract :
A method is presented for the calculation of the magneticfield strength inside as well as outside an inhomogeneously magnetized three-dimensional body. Employing the method derived in earlier papers for the solution of the magnetic field problem of two-dimensional magnetized body we show how the analytic supplement can be generalized for the three-dimensional case. The calculation scheme developed here is well suited to the solution of the inverse magnetic-field problem where the magnetization and/or the geometry is calculated from the measured magnetic field. With the help of the proposed calculation method a technique is described for the analytic continuation of the outer magnetic field into the inner region of a three-dimensional magnetized body. Several examples explain the applicability of the method.
