Abstract
A mathematical model to predict accurately the mean and standard deviation of each drop-size canting angle, assuming Gaussian canting angle distributions, is presented. The model utilizes the one-dimensional energy spectrum of horizontal turbulence given by Davenport. By using the differential equation for the horizontal-drop movement, the mean and standard deviation of each drop-size canting angle are calculated. Comparison with Saunders´s work shows good agreement.
