Abstract :
Low-frequency oscillations are becoming the major concern in system planning and operation of the Taiwan power system. With the developed dynamic performance monitoring system, oscillations could be detected simultaneously throughout the system. An extensive spectrum analysis based on real-time measurements is presented. By choosing proper frequency transformation parameters, features of oscillation modes of the system swing and their changes in different system operating conditions are studied. Damping ratios of various oscillation events are estimated and compared with those obtained from eigenvalue analysis
