Abstract :
Approximate analytic solutions for the resonant interaction of a relativistic electron beam interacting with a constant amplitude TEM wave, as in the cyclotron autoresonance maser (CARM) oscillator configuration, are presented. The approximation neglects force bunching relative to inertial bunching, which is usually valid for CARM parameter values of interest in many applications
