Abstract :
A numerical modal matching technique has been developed to analyse compact dual-mode dielectric-loaded conical horns. The technique has been used to design a high-performance horn containing a small dielectric ring. The bandwidth of peak crosspolarisation of the horn is three times greater than that achievable with a stepped metal horn.
