Abstract :
A basic formulation is presented of the mutual coupling between grounded circuits of finite length on a homogeneous half-space model of the earth that contains a vertical conductor. This is intended to be a model to examine the induced polarization response of a metal wall casing. Both interfacial polarization and induced eddy currents in the casing are allowed for. The normal electromagnetic coupling formulas need to be modified to account for the presence of such man-made structures.
