Abstract
Irregular magnetic domains in the transition region are believed to cause the signal dependent noise in metal thin film disks, This paper describes a technique for predicting the noise of film disks based on Lorentz microscopy. Only one picture with several transitions is needed for noise calculation. This is done by computer generation of transitions based on the distribution of zig-zags obtained from the picture. The calculated noise is compared to the measured noise from a similarly made disk and reasonable agreement is found.
