Abstract :
A new process, extrusion/compaction, has been described for making NdFeB magnets that have good magnetic properties in the radial direction and that would be considerably lower in cost than the present NdFeB magnets. Typical properties in the radial direction are Brof 7,900 gauss, Hcof 7,000 Oe, Hciof 16,800 Oe, and BHmaxof 13.8 MGOe.
