Abstract :
The natural frequencies and natural modes of open circular cylinders of given aspect ratios are calculated by means of a Galerkin procedure involving entire domain bases. The results are validated by comparison with other calculations of natural frequencies and modes for cylinders and time response current for wires. The usefulness of a previously proposed method based on perturbation theory is examined in this context.
