Abstract :
Propagation behaviors of magnetoelastic waves in amorphous wires are studied in respect to the dependence of them on annealing, wire-drawing and etching treatments. The scattering centers for the magnetoelastic wave are suggested to exist extensively all over the volume of as-quenched sample wires produced by the in-rotating-liquid spinning method. The wire-drawing treatment is exceedingly effective in removing these scattering centers for the magnetoelastic wave. An annealing after wiredrawing treatment is needed for softening the magnetic hardness arising from the wire-drawing treatment.
