Abstract :
This paper determines the transient flux level of a matching transformer in a series resonant inverter. At starting, the transformer will saturate if it is not designed corresponding to the transient flux level. The saturation of the transformer will short circuit the output of the inverter and will result in the failure of inverter operation. A transient analysis of the inverter is, therefore, presented to obtain the transient flux level of the transformer. All the theoretical results obtained have been verified experimentally.
