            Abstract : 
An experimental verification of the presence of a cross-magnetizing phenomenon in saturated synchronous machines is presented. Moreover, two simple equations describing the cross-magnetizing effect in the d- as well as in the q-axis are derived. The experimental results show that the cross-magnetizing effects in both the d- and q-axis are noticeably large, and, thus, they should not be ignored in the analysis of saturated synchronous machines in the two-axis frame.
