Abstract :
The commenter questions the work of D.B. Miron (ibid., vol.AP-31, no.3, p.507-9, 1983) concerning the evaluation of the singular integral in the expression for the electric field at a point where electric current exists (e.g. reentry vehicle heatshields, plasma sheaths and wakes, charged-particle beams, semiconductors, biological tissues and other polarization media). The difficulty is caused by the nonintegrable R-3singularity of the irrotational part of the electric dyadic Green´s function. In particular, the convergence of certain improper regularization integrals is called into question. D.B. Miron´s rebuttal is presented
