Abstract :
This paper describes some useful experimental methods for improving the performance characteristics of a parametric linear motor. One of the methods is the attachment of shading coils in each magnetic pole to increase the static thrust force. The other one is the reconstruction of a parametric linear motor to increase the effective thrust force. These methods greatly increase the figure of merit of the motor.
