Abstract :
A material design system for soft ferrites MAGSYS-F has been developed using a newly formulated knowledge representation language suitable for modeling of materials. In computer-aided material designing, the computer-simulation of material properties and characteristics is essential, and in the construction of a simulator of materials, a knowledge engineering technique is highly effective. Using this technique, a simulator of the MAGSYS-F provides a comprehensive ferrite material model incorporating a vast amount of relevant theories, experimental laws and records of manufacturing experiences.
