            Abstract : 
An integrated-optic dispersion equalizer has been fabricated on a planar lightwave circuit (PLC) for the first time. The PLC optical dispersion equalizer can compensate for both negative and positive fiber dispersion values. In a preliminary experiment, we successfully compensated for the chromatic dispersion of a 20 km-long 1.3 μm zero-dispersion fiber at 1.55 μm.
