Abstract :
A new efficient method has been employed to evaluate fields and losses in overmoded bent hollow waveguide by using the finite difference beam propagation method (FD-BPM) which considers the second field derivative along the propagation direction. The transition losses near the straight and curved sections are shown to be considerably smaller than those predicted by available theory
