Abstract :
Based on the fact that the performance of random error correction coding is less sensitive to the deletion of code symbols than errors in the code sequence, a signal editing (SE) process technique is introduced. The Letter describes single and two-level concatenated SE applications. Possible performance improvements and suggestions are illustrated and discussed
