Abstract :
A modem structure for high speed data communications is presented. This modem is designed to operate in the time division multiple access (TDMA) mode using quadriphase shift keying (QPSK). This new structure permits the transmission of higher data rates, thus allowing commercial businesses, such as retailers, farmers, etc., to send and receive sales and inventory figures, commodity prices, etc. without delay and with minimal error. This result is achievable because this structure overcomes the problem of intersymbol interference by incorporating first, a unique adaptive equalizer, and second, new carrier and clock recovery networks. Simulations are shown, as well as the actual circuits for implementation
