Abstract :
A stabilised Michelson interferometer system using a new interference mode has been developed, in which a specially designed beam-splitter produces two complementary interference patterns. With differential detection, the laser intensity noise is efficiently eliminated, and the system is simpler and stabler. The measured displacement sensitivity is 10¿2 A¿/ ¿(HZ).
