Abstract :
Measurements are reported on efficiency phase-matched second-harmonic generation (SHG) in a single crystal of the organic material 2-(N, N-dimethylamino)-5-nitroacetanilide (DAN) at the technologically important communications wavelength of 1-3 μm. Using 0-5 mJ pulses, a conversion efficiency of 18% has been achieved for a sample 2 mm thick.
