Abstract :
Optical time-division multiplexing is considered for synchronous gigabit/s long-distance ransmission networks. Experimental results are presented for a 150 km fibre network of 2 Gbit/s capacity. The problem of differential fibre propagation delay variations is addressed with signal processing developed for the implementation of closed-loop feedback control.
