Abstract :
A method for detecting a thin slit in a thick ground plane is discussed. The method is based upon detecting the slit resonances which occur when the thickness of the ground plane is approximately an integer order of half-wavelengths. A theoretical model for the scattering from a two-dimensional slit by a short current element is also described. Both theory and experiment display the slit resonances.
