Abstract :
A magnetic line source on a dielectric coated conducting cylinder excites a creeping wave field. The coating is not necessarily thin, so more than one mode can exist. It is found that as the coating thickness is increased, the surface field on the dielectric-air interface exhibits a distinctive beat pattern resulting from the interaction between two creeping-wave modes.
