  • Abstract
    Model reduction by the simplified Routh approximation method (SRAM) is extended to produce reduced-order models directly in state-space form from the given system matrices in companion form. The method involves only one Routh-type array, and avoids the necessity for matrix inversion and multiplication of the system matrices and the use of recursive formulas. An example demonstrates its use.
