Abstract :
A crosscorrelation method for pitch extraction from speech signals is proposed. The crosscorrelator has two inputs: the actual speech signal is fed to the first input and synthesised voiced speech signals with different values of fundamental frequency are fed to the second input. The maximum crosscorrelator output indicates the estimated value of the fundamental frequency. The crosscorrelator method has been tested with real speech signals, and the results are discussed for clean and noisy speech signals.
