Abstract :
The raw disparity maps produced by area-based stereo algorithms are often noisy and blurred. A postprocessing stage can be applied to them in order to improve subsequent 3D surface reconstruction. An algorithm using nonlinear directional filtering is described. It is applicable to the output of any area-based disparity technique
