Abstract :
In the theory of random processes, numerous equivalent bandwidths (EBWs) have been proposed and used practically in many fields. In this report, we first show that the six important EBWs, having been used very often in many fields, are sorted into four kinds of EBW. Second, we show that the class suggested by Zakai provides a unified representation of the four, and it can be redefined by using Renyi´s α-order entropy, which strengthens Zakai´s suggestion. The same class is also obtained by using an equivalent rectangular spectra concept. Finally, we display the results of calculating the EBWs for some special spectra.
