Abstract :
A theoretical analysis of the statistics of the quantization noise in split delta-sigma (DeltaSigma) analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) is presented. Sufficient conditions are derived that ensure that the quantization noise components of the constituent DeltaSigma modulators are asymptotically independent of each other, the input, delayed versions of themselves, and uniformly distributed. The application of the conditions is illustrated for two useful classes of split DeltaSigma ADCs.
