Abstract :
The 2008 IEEE Information Theory Society Paper Award was jointly awarded to David Donoho for the paper "Compressed Sensing," which appeared in the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, vol. 52, no. 4, pp. 1289-1306, April 2006, and Emmanual Candes and Terence Tao for the paper "Near-Optical Signal Recovery From Random Projections: Universal Encoding Strategies?" which appeared in the IEEE Transactions om Information Theory , vol. 52, no. 12, pp. 5406-5425, December 2006.
