Abstract :
This paper presents a detailed description of two underwater connectors and a feedthrough that can be designed in-house for special requirements. A standard MIL-C-24217 underwater connector can be used for many applications, but frequently a special design would do the job much better. A special design, however, usually involves severe penalties in cost and delivery. This paper describes techniques that can be used to produce reliable high-quality connectors and feedthroughs with substantial savings in size, weight, cost, and delivery.
