Abstract
In rehabilitation medicine for patients with spinal cord injury (SCI), it is necessary for medical staff members to recommend a suitable computer input device and adjust the device for the individual patient. We have developed an evaluation system for selecting a suitable computer input device for each patient. After a device is selected, the medical staff must adjust the device by selecting the appropriate sensitivity of the mouse for the operating system. This paper describes a software system that can calculate suitable mouse sensitivity based on a mouse cursor image of the patient´s computer use. The mouse sensitivity value calculated by our software system was shown to be adequate for the examined patient.
