Abstract :
A discussion is presented of the performance of the MAP protocol profile, which is a typical example of a layered OSI protocol profile in a local area network environment, and the results of a number of measurements are given. Static aspects of performance, which are dominated by the implementation, are covered. The main issue is the examination of dynamic aspects, which are dominated by the transport layer
