Abstract
This work presents the design and simulation of a 5-15 GHz quad-ridge horn with a coaxial to quad-ridge waveguide transition at the feed. A dielectric lens was added to improve the efficiency to nearly 70% over the band. The dielectric lens removes phase errors that exist at the aperture and improves the antenna aperture efficiency. Very good agreement was obtained between simulations and measurements of S11, port to port isolation, gain patterns, and efficiency.
