Abstract :
We present simulations of a 16 channels coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) system operating at 2.5 Gb/s transmitted over 55 Km of standard fiber. The channel space was optimized in order to improve the use of the operation spectrum and to avoid the water peak. The results demonstrate the feasibility of 40 Gbit/s total capacity CWDM system operation using the S, C and L bands with BER better than 10-9.
