Abstract :
Dendritic silicon layers are prepared on alumina ceramic by melting and regrowing a CVD Si layer with a BSG encapsulation. Thin-film solar cells fabricated by successive deposition of p- and n+-Si layers on this dendritic silicon exhibit a conversion efficiency of 2.6 percent under AM1 illumination.
