Abstract :
An X-band microwave amplifier module consisting of a low-noise solid-state amplifier and a low-gain helix traveling-wave-tube (TWT) is designed and fabricated. Measured microwave characteristics are found to be significantly improved compared with conventional helix-TWTs.
