Abstract :
Multiplexing liquid-crystal displays leads to complex devices with a minimum number of electrical connections. However, limitations in complexity due to the electrooptical characteristics of liquid crystals and to the matrix addressing scheme need to be considered. In this paper, we are proposing new types of liquid-crystal multiplexing techniques using the dielectric relaxation phenomenon in liquid crystals. These new types can be considered as two imbricated multiplexing systems. These new techniques are described and the main interesting performances are given and compared to the well-known one-frequency systems.
