Abstract
Peak powers of 0.2 GW were obtained in 12-J pulses 60-ns full width at half maximum (FWHM) from a room-temperature atmospheric-pressure mixture of H2 and F2 initiated with an electron beam. The chemical efficiency was 0.25 percent and the electrical efficiency was ∼100 percent.
