Abstract :
Improvements in the accuracy of power-frequency electric and magnetic field measurements require adequately calibrated instruments. The systems for the generation of reference electric and magnetic fields set up at the Istituto Elettrotecnico Nazionale `Galileo Ferraris´ (IEN) are described. A description of the calibration procedures is given, together with a detailed uncertainty budget. The resulting uncertainty of the generated fields at the 1σ level is within 1.3×10-3 for the electric field up to 60 kV/m and within 6×10-3 for the magnetic field up to 10 mT
