Abstract :
A split-band directly modulated fiber-optical CATV transport system based on a lower-frequency sidemode injection-locked technique is proposed and demonstrated. The lower-frequency sidemode injection-locked technique largely increases the resonance frequency of slave laser, which leads to an improvement of system performance. Excellent performances of carrier-to-noise ratio, composite second-order, and composite triple beat were achieved for the full channel band over a 100-km single-mode-fiber transmission.
