Abstract :
The authors provide a detailed loss computation of a sheet wound transformer. The aim is to develop a simplified two-dimensional model in which 3-D effects due are introduced by correction factors. The present solution is based on analytical computation of extra losses in bus bars, numerical determination of bus bar statis resistance, and a semi-empirical calculation of bus bar extra losses due to sheet winding proximity. The FLUX finite element software package is used for the numerical part of study. Values of computed transformer total losses are compared to experimental ones for three different cases, with satisfying results at 50 Hz
